Excerpt from Craft Corps (Chapter 28):
"VH: Do you come from a crafty family?
FL: I come from a very creatively supportive family. My mom has been in the natural food industry for my entire life, so for people who think of cooking as crafty, then yes. Neither of my parents ever said no to me if I wanted to try a new creative interest. They were so supportive of that! I think that had a huge, huge impact on who I became. Also, both of my parents are self-employed, so I came from a home where I saw how much work it takes to create your own business and the gratification that can come out of it. above and beyond anything, my parents showed me what I could do with my life."
