Share (Pedersen) Ross, former bassist of '80s metal band Vixen and current front woman of Bubble, was a guest on the guitar strap and Janis Tank episodes of the show. She's also the author of the irreverently designed, Punk Knits.
Kelley Deal of the Breeders (currently touring for their latest--and perhaps greatest-- cd, Mountain Battles), appeared on a felted bag episode of the show, demoing Swiss darning (aka the duplicate stitch). She's also the author of the book, Bags that Rock: Knitting on the Road with Kelley Deal (which I was lucky enough to get to write a cover quote for), which hits shelves this November.Have I mentioned lately how much knitting rocks? Okgoodthanksbye.

OMG, I love the Breeders! I had no idea they were touring right now, thanks so much for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteaside from bust, which we know is craft friendly, my other two favourite magazines are Teen Vogue and Nylon. Teen Vogue ALWAYS has a DIY column with some fancy dancy but uber hip fashion designer and Nylon usually has Corey Kennedy but always crafty things! oh how i love magazines!!!
ReplyDeleteTotal blast from the past, I knew Jan and Janet from Vixen, we're all from Minnesota, I use to drum for a different all-female heavy metal band, had the big hair, now I crochet, too funny.
ReplyDeleteway cool!
