Love Rocks!--Free Pattern of the Month

Since we're about to leave for Dallas to help with our wee nephew who has a respiratory infection, I thought I'd go ahead and post February's free pattern a day early.  This is a fun little neck decor perfect for V-day, or to anytime you feel like showing some love. Enjoy!  xo, Vickie

Mitred Heart Neck Garland


MATERIALS
1 ball each of SWTC/Vickie Howell Collection’s Rock (40% Soysilk/30%Fine Wool/30%Hemp; 100m/50g) in Colors: Gwen (red) and Jack (white)
US Size 8 needle
US Size G crochet hook

FINISHED MEASUREMENT
44” (or desired length)

GAUGE
1 heart= 3 1/4” at widest point.

HEART (Make 4 in each color, 8 total)
With DOUBLE STRAND of one color, CO 20 sts.
Row 1: K8, ssk, k2tog, k8.
Rows 2,4,6,8: Knit
Row 3: K7, ssk, k2tog, k7.
Row 5: K6, ssk, k2tog, k6.
Row 7: K5, ssk, k2tog, k5.
Row 9: k4:ssk, k2tog, k4
Row 10: Ssk, BO to last 2 sts (you’ll still have one st on the RH needle as well), ssk, BO remaining sts.

ASSEMBLY & FINISHING
With ONE STRAND of red and crochet hook, pick-up stitch at the top center edge of 1 of the hearts, and slip stitch. *Ch 6, attach opposite color of heart at the bottom edge. Slip stitch along back center of heart (use the “ladders” created by the decreases as your guide) until you reach the top edge of this heart.

Repeat from * twice more.
Ch 60, then continue as established, attaching 4 more hearts. Tie off. Weave in ends.


Block if necessary.

    Btw, I'm loving the hearts!!! they'd be great alone, to decorate cards and stuff... :D
