Heya! I've been toying around with offering free patterns on my site every once in a while, but I don't really have time right now to pull enough of them together to warrant a full web page (although I promise to do it in the near future). So, when Bev asked for the pattern for the neck piece I'm wearing in my new Austin Craft Mafia head shot (taken by the lovely and talented, Cory Ryan) I thought, why not just post patterns on the blog? Duh. I've been really into Victorian-inspired ruffles lately, but still wanted to make something with a bit of an edge that I could easily pair with my uniform of jeans and heels. The result was this funky little cotton neck scarf that's definitely more about fashion, than function. Enjoy!
KICK ASS-COT!

Hi again Vickie! I took the picture of me and my kick ass-cot, but sadly cannot figure out how to send you the picture, nor can I wrangle my husband down for 5 minutes for his help! Is there an email address, or am I missing something? I'm sure the answer is staring me in the face! Thanks!

This is the cutest 'scarf' ever!! I'm a crocheter, so I'm outta the loop on this lovely. But I'm going to be keeping an eye out for your "pop goes crochet"!! Fabulous work!
ReplyDeleteEven this 60-something old doll can go for this. But I shall change the title, if you don't mind. Sensibilities, you know.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous--LOL. Fair enough. How about, "Ascot What Your Country Can Do for You?" ;-)
ReplyDeleteIts like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with some pics to drive the message home a little bit, but instead of that, this is great blog. A fantastic read. I'll certainly be back.

Question! Having the pattern go to the smaller needles and smaller yarn - is that so it is no as bulky in the back? Do you have a picture of what the back looks like?
ReplyDeleteNope, it's to accommodate the two different weights of yarns. :)
